Kasaragod: All out for four, every batter out bowled for zero | Cricket News


KOCHI: 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0! That’s how the scores of the ten batters of Kasaragod under-19 girls team read in an inter-district cricket match against Wayanad at the Perinthalmanna Cricket stadium in Malappuram district on Wednesday.

And the manner of dismissal of all the ten batters was similar as all of them were bowled, making it a unique stat in cricket history.

Though all Kasaragod batters, including the not out one, failed to open their account, they did manage to put four runs on the board thanks to the generosity of Wayanad bowlers, who conceded four extras.

The Wayanad openers knocked over the required target of five runs in just one over as they coasted to a 10-wicket win.

When Kasaragod skipper S Akshatha won the toss and elected to bat, little did she imagine that the game would get over in the blink of an eye.

Kasaragod openers, K Veekshitha and S Chaitra, survived the first two overs but things started to happen from the third over bowled by Wayanad captain Nithya Loordh as she took three wickets in six balls, and the procession began.
