BERNARD Tomic’s two-years from hell are over after the polarising Australian broke his ATP tournament duck, defeating top seed Fabio Fognini 6-1 3-6 the Chengdu final.
Tomic was back to his crafty best during the China tournament, carrying his form into the final after breezing past Portugal’s Joao Sousa 6-4 6-4 in semi-final.
“Fabio is playing ridiculous, he has won three titles this year and he wants to win another one,” Tomic said of the Italian before their match.
“He wants to make the (ATP Finals) so for him this is an important match, but I have got nothing to lose.
